Busy Parents - help is on the way part 5

Dear parents

I asked you the 3 biggest obstacles you face when taking care of your health and wellbeing and you told me. I managed to narrow the common themes down to these little monsters

Time

Money

Confusion

Time is the big one as you are so busy with the kids, school run, house to look after, shopping and then don’t even mention trying to manage a social life and go out for some me time

Money was almost as big as time and for the simple reason that you have to pay for what you don’t know and can’t work out on your own. Gyms are reasonably cheap, but tie into extra time and so a double problem. Personal training can be an expense and online coaching can hit the hundreds a month very easily

Confusion was mentioned so often as your phone can access the world, but who needs all of that in order to take a few positive steps in the right direction of health and fitness? Nobody, and with so many options the overwhelm kicks and like 5000 movies on Netflix we end up watching nothing after searching for an hour

Can you imagine the breath of fresh air and relief you would feel if something came along that not only dealt with all of these problems without question, but also delivered the resources required to achieve fantastic results directly to you, LIVE weekdays and available on catch up, with a private support group and complete course platform for all content?

Next week I will show you the solution I have created to allow you to be an inspiration for your kids and create those great memories

Are you ready to give your family the ultimate gift?

Busy Parents - help is on the way part 4

Dear parents

How many times have you started some form of health journey?

Grab a pen and paper and write them down now, or open a doc and get typing

I want you to cover –

Different diets
Training programs
Gyms
Coaches
Online courses and workshops
Books
Seminars
Podcasts
YouTube videos
Articles, swipe files and PDFs

List all of the times you have reached for, or invested in, something and then given up

This is important because the more times you quit, the stronger the belief that you can do nothing to change things. This is the proverbial boy that cried wolf and eventually you give up and even stop starting because you know it will end in defeat

This is a powerful psychological model that perfectly explains our acceptance of failure based on repeated failure

However, it does not need to be the end of your story

I will show you how it can be a powerful new beginning

Your failure number – have the courage to write it below or message me

Change starts with raw honesty and acceptance

Busy Parents - help is on the way part 3

Dear parents

How is your fitness?

My guess from experience and statistics would be that around 80% of you would agree not great and could certainly be better. You can walk, play in the park and maybe even jog a few laps, but you are well aware you have let things go and that is not helping things

The problem is there is so much confusion around what to do and on top of that you are busy and tired

How do you find the time and energy to train if there is no time and you are flat?

Sit back and for a brief moment imagine what life would be like in 3-6 months of regular, effective and short exercise sessions. Stay with it as your brain will instantly tell you it is not possible and who are you kidding.

The beauty is that it is possible and for everyone. By spending time with what it would feel like, how you would look, how you would show up for your kids, at work and the energy you would bring to the family unit is the greatest gift you can give yourself and your family

But how do you get there?

I will teach you

Busy Parents - help is on the way part 2

Dear parents

What is the thing your children will remember the most about you?

The time you spent with them and the experiences you had together to create memories

Knowing this I want you to be honest with yourself. How much time do you feel you give them and how much time and energy do you have to create those great experiences and amazing memories

There is no shame in being honest with yourself as that is the path to change. Once you realise this you give yourself the freedom to create

If you have found it difficult to be there for your kids for whatever reason then today is the day to accept that and forgive yourself. Release the burden and guilt and say to yourself – I am going to create great memories with my kids

Repeat this often as a reminder of what to do when uncertain or overwhelmed

Busy Parents - help is on the way part 1

Busy parents

I have spoken to many of you, worked with many of you and been one of you. I understand the frustrations you often face with health and how busy and tiring the pace of life can be at times

You have so many plates spinning there is hardly any time left for you and those tiny moments are always filled with unexpected events and things we forgot to do, or finally decided to clear from the endless to-do list

I listened to you, but I did much more than that, I realised I was you and the only real difference was that I knew what the goals would feel like that you were after achieving. Health, fitness and inner peace are available to all with the determination to walk a steady path and create foundations

I spent hundreds of hours creating something that I knew would overcome your biggest objections and allow you to create solid health foundations in mind and body for yourself and your children

Are you ready to make 2024 your year?

Stayed tuned for daily updates this week

Will You Do Anything For Your Kids?

Give your kids the ultimate gift – get healthy for them

Dear Parents,

In the grand tapestry of parenthood, woven with love, sacrifices, and boundless devotion, there's a thread that often frays and weakens without us realising its significance—your health. As a parent, you would move mountains for your children, but have you considered that the most profound gift you can give them is something as fundamental as your physical health and mental well-being?

Let's address the three formidable adversaries standing between you and prioritising your health: Time, Money, and Confusion.

1. Time:

In the hustle and bustle of daily life, time seems like a luxury you cannot afford. Between work commitments, school runs, and managing a household, self-care often takes a back seat. However, investing time in your health now is an investment in the quality and quantity of the time you'll spend with your loved ones in the future.

Consider this: Time spent on your health today is potentially time added to your life to create enduring memories with your children. It's not about finding more time; it's about making the time you have count.

2. Money:

Health, wrongly perceived as a luxury item, can be more economical than you think. It's not about flashy health club memberships or extravagant wellness retreats. Simple, sustainable lifestyle changes can have a monumental impact on your health without burning a hole in your pocket.

Think of it this way: The cost of preventive measures pales in comparison to the financial burden of dealing with health issues down the road. By investing in your health now, you are securing a future that allows you to provide for your children without the looming shadow of unforeseen emergencies and potential health worries.

3. Confusion:

Navigating the labyrinth of health advice and information can be overwhelming. Fad diets, conflicting exercise routines, and contradictory wellness trends create a fog of confusion. But fear not; there is a clear path through the mist.

Imagine the clarity that comes with understanding your body's needs, making informed choices, and adopting sustainable practices in the form of a simple morning routine you look forward to. By dispelling confusion, you pave the way for a healthier lifestyle that resonates with you and, consequently, benefits your family.

The Cost of Poor Health:

Let's address the stark reality—what your children might be missing out on due to poor health. Fatigue, stress, and compromised sleep not only affect your well-being but also impact your ability to be fully present for your family. The potential consequences include missed opportunities for shared laughter, adventures and creating great memories, and the priceless lessons that only a healthy and engaged parent can impart.

The Gift of Great Health:

Conversely, picture the boundless energy, vitality, and joy that come with optimal health. A healthy parent is an active participant in their children's lives, creating enduring memories and imparting invaluable life lessons through actions rather than just words.

By prioritizing your health, you become a beacon of inspiration, teaching your children the importance of self-care, resilience, and the pursuit of a fulfilling life. The legacy you leave extends beyond material possessions; it encompasses a mindset and lifestyle that transcends generations.

The best gift you can give your children is the gift of a healthy, vibrant you. It's not about perfection, but rather about progress—a journey that shapes not only your life but the lives of those you hold dear.

Embrace the challenge, overcome the obstacles, and embark on a journey towards a healthier, more fulfilling life. Your children will not only thank you for it, but they will also carry the torch of well-being into their own lives and the lives of their descendants.

Here's to a healthier, happier you and the precious gift you are giving to the ones you cherish the most.

My gift to you is a free video course that can lay those foundations for you and help you get started today :)

Why we struggle to find balance with health

During a deep meditation, I had a wonderful insight into mind and body health

They are at the opposite ends of the same spectrum

The body requires effort, stress, resistance and hard work to cause adaptations that improve muscle, lungs and heart

Doing nothing leads to decay and disease

The mind is scanning your environment several times a second for safety and survival, reading every word you see, recognising faces, processing information and never switching off

Doing nothing is the chamber of rest that leads to awareness and inner peace

Why do so many struggle with this?

Because like the body, we think it should be hard work, labour intensive and something that takes years to achieve. It is quite the opposite and the ability to sit still for 10 minutes and be ok with whatever arises can reduce your brain activity, stress and anxiety significantly

The problem?

We call nothing boredom and constantly escape it by being busy and therefore miss the easiest way there is to cultivate mindfulness and peace - this moment. The constant now that never stops

It is all here and it is always accessible

The question is where are you?

The number one thing you need in the online space...

Your number one asset in the online space is resiliency

As soon as you step up and decide to be more than you currently are you will push away 90% of the population

They will see your drive to be better and react emotionally to it

Your confidence will be seen as arrogance

Your strength and fitness will be seen as pride and narcissism

Your success will be seen as greed and selfishness

Your vulnerability will be seen as weakness

Your efforts to improve will be seen as excessive and an obsession

Your straight talking and truth only approach will be seen as shaming some group or afflicted people you never mentioned

Every virtue you strive for will be weaponised against you

Your desire to create the best in others will be seen as a desperate way to be liked and fix your trauma in some way

They will say you are changing and should stay nice and humble, when you realise these were the very reasons you played small and stayed quiet

Whatever you do they will find fault in it as they have given up on themselves and hate anything that reminds them of what could have been

They will do whatever they can to blame you for how they feel and hurt you as you have hurt them by reminding them what they have said no to and accepted in their daily defeat

You are going against the norm and the odds are stacked against you in the millions

Go get it with both hands

The Dark Side of Remote Work: Protecting Your Health While Working from Home

Working from home has become increasingly popular in recent years, with many employees now opting for remote work due to its flexibility and comfort. However, it can also have a significant impact on one's physical and mental health, which can go unnoticed and eventually lead to burnout. In this article, we will explore the negative effects of working from home and what you can do to mitigate them.

First and foremost, working from home can lead to a sedentary lifestyle, which is harmful to physical health. With no commute to work, many people find themselves sitting in front of a computer screen for long periods of time, leading to poor posture, eye strain, and neck and back pain. Moreover, being cooped up in a small space can lead to a lack of physical activity, which can have long-term health consequences such as weight gain, heart disease, and depression.

Working from home can also have a negative impact on mental health. The blurring of boundaries between work and personal life can lead to feelings of isolation, loneliness, and burnout. This can be particularly challenging for people who live alone, as they may not have the same opportunities for social interaction and support as they would in an office environment. Additionally, the lack of structure and routine can lead to increased stress and anxiety, as people struggle to balance work and home life.

Another factor to consider is the impact that working from home can have on one's work-life balance. The lines between work and home life can become blurred, making it difficult to switch off from work and relax. This can result in increased stress and anxiety, as well as decreased job satisfaction and motivation. Moreover, the lack of structure and routine can lead to an increase in working hours, as people struggle to get their work done within the constraints of a traditional 9-5 schedule.

So what can you do to mitigate these negative effects of working from home?

Here are a few tips:

Set up a dedicated work area: Having a specific place for work can help you maintain a healthy work-life balance, as it gives you a clear distinction between work and home life. This can be a separate room or a designated area within a larger room.

Take regular breaks: Regular breaks are essential for preventing burnout, so take a break every hour or so to stretch, walk around, and refocus your mind.

Maintain a healthy diet: Eating a balanced diet and staying hydrated can help you maintain your physical and mental health. Avoid eating junk food and excessive caffeine, and try to eat nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day.

Exercise regularly: Regular exercise is essential for maintaining physical and mental health, so make sure to get at least 30 minutes of physical activity each day. This can be anything from going for a walk, to doing yoga, to hitting the gym.

Connect with others: Staying connected with friends and family is crucial for maintaining mental health, so make an effort to connect with others regularly, whether it be through phone calls, video calls, or social events.

To summarise, working from home can have negative impacts on physical and mental health, but by taking the steps outlined above, you can mitigate these effects and maintain a healthy work-life balance. It is important to be mindful of the impact that working from home can have, and to take action to ensure that you are taking care of both your physical and mental health.

One of the best things you can do is to create a morning routine that focuses on physical fitness and mental well-being. Something as simple as 20 minutes with a combination of exercise, stretching, breathing and meditation can set you up for a productive day and also keep you on track for optimised health.
